Two Day Workshop

Join Shelley on a Saturday and Sunday to photograph birds and wildlife around Mandurah and Peel district.

The atmosphere of Mandurah's waterways creates a serene backdrop for birdwatching, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. With its diverse range of bird species, you can expect to witness a captivating display of avian life, making your visit to Mandurah truly unforgettable. 

You will need to do some driving, but it will be worth it. Species you will photograph include; egrets, ospreys, fairy-wrens, kangaroos. Lots of opportunities to look for migatory birds visiting Mandurah at this time. 

Saturday afternoon session is at Island Point  and afterwards you have the opportunity for a landscape sunset shoot at this beautiful spot.  It will be a perfect way to end a fulfilling day of bird photography. 

On Sunday morning, there will be one final session followed by  a wrap up of the event, allowing you to reflect on your experiences and perhaps capture any last-minute sightings or moments before bidding farewell to this incredible birdwatching destination. 

INFORMATION
 

This workshop covers:

.  Creative Exposure for dark or light atmospheric theme to images

.  Experiment with different angles for rim light, backlight and side light

.  Habitat to look for in your backgrounds

.  Using the environment to enhance effects captured in camera

. Capturing fast paced action.

.  Tips when in the field to improve your images

.  Tips on bird behaviour and how to anticipate those special moments

.  Best camera settings. 

We require that all our guests are independent, with reasonable fitness and mobility. This workshop involves a reasonable amount of walking and is not suitable if you have mobility limitations.

We always recommend increasing your walking activity prior if you are not a regular walker - try out comfortable shoes to take with you and improve your walking fitness - it's a great way to be sure to get the most out of this special event.

Once payment has been received your booking is confirmed. An itinerary will be sent including recommended items to bring for the workshops. 

If you wish to stay in Mandurah there is a variety of hotels/caravan parks to stay. Some of my clients have stayed at the "The Sebel" and "Seashells" hotels Mandurah and recommend. 

Shelley spends time checking spots closer to the workshops to ensure she has options and where bird activity is.
