Meet Shelley

Hello, I'm glad you're here. I am an enthusiastic bird and wildlife photographer who enjoys being outside and teaching others what I know. I have more than 15 years of experience and enjoy assisting others in their quest to learn more about birds, wildlife, photography, and conservation. On my website, I showcase my work and offer resources for other photographers and nature lovers. I hope you find inspiration and useful information here, whether you're a novice or an expert photographer.

When I first fell in love with photography, I started out doing well, winning prizes at the Perth Royal Show, including the People's Choice Award. Since then, I have received numerous honours and recognition, including shortlisted for ANZANG, UK Bird Photographer of the Year, and winning 2018 Birdlife Behaviour Award from the Annual Birdlife Photography Awards.

I am currently sponsored by Fujifilm Australia/Japan as an advocate promoting their cameras and lenses. Involved in many campaigns, travelling around Australia photographing wildlife with their cameras/lenses before release dates taking many images and videos.

I am also honoured to be on the judging panel for the Annual Birdlife Photography Awards 2023 (Australia).  I also have images, articles and cover pages published in the Australian Birdlife Magazine. Many of my images have been published in various books including George Adam's “The Complete Guide to Australian Birds” book cover.

Recent achievements include being shortlisted for the 2024 UK Bird Photographer of the Year. I enjoyed travelling to Adelaide South Australia to speak about “Photographing Birds Creatively” at the Biennial Birdlife Photography Conference  2024.
